2022 Fundraiser!

Our big fund raiser for the year is starting! Cash raffle tickets will be available at several sponsors as well as the weekly Flea Market in St. Germain. We have a limited number of raffle tickets so come get your ticket before they run out!

The Highline Trail is Open!

The Highline Trail is open! We received our report back early from Digger’s Hotline and went out and signed the Highline Trail over the weekend. Also completed was the replacement of the caution tape with bright colored flags at the Hwy155 and Big St. Germain drive location. A big thank you to Jeff Heeler, Gary Penner, Diana Nasca, Tim Bower and Rick Runge for taking the time (and energy) to get this task completed. Enjoy the ride but, as always, be safe!

Trails Opening!

The Vilas County ATV/UTV trails are opening on Friday, May 13 @ 8:00am. Please read Todd Bierman’s message below as it does state that the new Highline Trail will not be opening at the same time. We expect that trail to open on May 18. Have fun and ride safe!

Prepping the Highline Trail – 05062022

Jeff Heeler and Gary Penner were out working on the Highline Trail today. They are staking the trail so Digger’s Hotline can come out and mark it prior to putting up trail signs.
The next workday is Tuesday, May 10. If you are available, bring tools and a chainsaw (if you have one) to the intersection of Hwy C and Deadman’s Gulch at 1:00pm to help out.

Trail Cleanup – 4/28/2022

A good day yesterday starting to work on getting the trails ready for this riding season. Work was completed setting up the split rail fence and moving some of the light barrier wall to storage. Some work is being done with signage where possible but the ground is still frozen in many areas and snow piles keep us from completing the work needed. Be patient! It won’t be long now!
A big thank you goes out to Jeff Heeler, Gary Penner, Kirby Giampa, Jeff Horvath, Gary & Debbie Egert, Tom Tomlanovich, Rick Runge and Bob Nowack for all the hard work. Our volunteers are the backbone of this Club!

St. Germain ATV/UTV Riding Season Update – 4/15/2022

Everyone: several of you may have seen a posting on other sites regarding the opening of town roads, trails and routes in St. Germain as of May 1. While it is true that town roads open and that the town statute even says “trails and routes”, there are trails and routes that are under the jurisdiction of the Vilas County Forestry, Recreation and Land Department. Its confusing I know but, at this point, it is best to stay off any non-hard surface roads due to the damage that could be caused by riding on soft surface roads. See below from Todd Bierman that he does not anticipate a full County rollout of trails in Vilas County on May 1.
Please watch this site for more information as we hear from the County on status updates. Thank you!
Hi guys,
Please be careful of what you put on Facebook. Someone has sent me a post saying that all routes and trails in St. Germain open May 1. This is going to add to confusion and problems. The Vilas County trail system will not be opened then. There are too many issues that need to be accomplished by then. Brushing , Trail inspections and letting the area dry out are a few. Please take that post down and let people know that this is not going to happen. We can not control the weather. I know we all want to get the season going but let’s look at the long term effect. If you have questions or concerns, please contact me.
Thank you and Happy Easter,
Todd Bierman
