Fall Fest 2022!
The St. Germain ATV Club Fall Fest is coming up quickly now! This year we will be having our scavenger hunt with a few twists including new trails and clues. In addition, there will be ATV/UTV games and we will be ending the day at Murmuring Waters where we will have a tent with tables and chairs to relax on while clue sheets are scored and a 50/50 raffle is played. Ending the day there will be prize raffles and, of course, the big cash raffle!
Come join us for a day full of fun and activities! Food and drink will be available for purchase at Murmuring Waters.
St. Germain Chamber of Commerce Award Granted!
The St. Germain Chamber of Commerce has awarded the St. Germain ATV Club a $30,000 grant to be used for the purpose of trail maintenance equipment. When the grant was completed, we highlighted the need for a tractor, drag, heavy duty chainsaws, pole chainsaws and other tools for this work. We are asking our membership to provide their ideas for the best way to leverage these grant funds by sending an email to gro.bulcvtagtsnull@yraterces.
We very much appreciate the St. Germain Chamber’s support of our Club! Thank you!
WATVA Events!
There are a number of fun rides coming up sponsored by WATVA (Wisconsin ATV UTV Association). Check out the attached for the details on each ride.
Club Video Action!
Take a look at these great pictures done by Dan Dumas with the Club yesterday! Dan is pulling together a video of our Club to provide to the Chamber for advertising our town. He will also be taking some video of our dinner ride this coming Thursday to Timbers. As soon as the video is ready, we will be sure to share it with you all!
Highline Trail Grand Opening!
The St. Germain ATV Club held a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony of the new Highline Trail located south of Hwy70 and running east/west from Cty J to Cty O. The grand opening is the culmination of several years of work between Vilas and Oneida counties along with the DNR.
The grand opening was held on May 26, 2022 @ 1:00pm at the entrance of the trail on Cty J. Invitees included the following as well as all Club members:
- Dave Kroll – Newbold Town Chairman
- Tom Christensen – St. Germain Town Chairman
- Penny Strom – St. Germain Chamber Director
- Craig Dalton – DNR
- Joe Fieweger – DNR
- Todd Bierman – Vilas County Forestry
- Jake Truitt – County Forestry
- Darwin Lohse – Oneida County ATV/UTV Alliance
- Jack Bourgeois – Vilas County ATV/UTV Alliance
Gary Penner said a few words thanking everyone who was involved in the development of this trail including Vilas County, the DNR and past/present Club members. He and Jeff Heeler (Trail Boss) did the ceremonial cutting of the ribbon to formally open the Highline Trail. Everyone seemed to enjoy the event complete with cookies to mark the occasion.
In addition, Gary noted that there is a new trail through St. Germain which connects the north and south sections of St. Germain. This is something the businesses have wanted for years and 2022 saw it happen.
